Mo Patel started in fit out when the work was still learned on site rather than in a classroom, and he has never really left it. Thirty five years later he still walks every project himself, which is the whole reason MP Design only takes on a handful at a time.
The experience covers the full range. High end hotel and hospitality interiors where the opening date is fixed and the finish has to be flawless. Private residential refits in Hyde Park and Knightsbridge where the work happens quietly around people who live there. Homes in the South of France and Monaco. And over twenty years of rollout work for McDonald's, where the discipline is doing the same thing to the same standard on site after site.
What clients tend to remember is not the specification. It is that the person who priced the job was the person on site, and that what was promised in week one was what happened in week twelve.
He is, by any measure, passionate about what he does. Thirty five years in and he still wants to see the last coat go on himself.
